Micro Business of the Year
The RAYE Micro Business of the Year Award recognises an Australian micro business demonstrating strong commercial performance, smart operations and meaningful customer outcomes while operating with a small team. For this category, a micro business is defined as a business employing 0–4 people, including a non-employing business operated by its owner. Judges will consider how effectively the business uses its available people, systems, resources and capability to build a commercially strong operation. This category is not determined by turnover alone. A micro business may demonstrate significant revenue or growth and remain eligible provided it meets the employment-size requirement.

Applicants should demonstrate measurable commercial performance, an effective business model, strong customer outcomes and evidence that the business operates effectively within the capacity of a micro business.
Strong applicants will show how they make deliberate decisions about time, systems, technology, outsourcing, resources, pricing, delivery or other areas to create a strong business without relying on a large internal team.
There is no turnover ceiling for this category.
