What they're known for
Emma Makepeace is a Community Engagement Consultant, project manager and facilitator who creates community-first initiatives, experiences and spaces where people feel connected, valued and inspired to participate.
As the founder of Makepeace Community Co., Emma works across community engagement, project management, people and culture, women’s workplace wellbeing, events, workshops and retreats. Her approach brings together strategic thinking, creative problem-solving and practical delivery, helping purpose-led organisations turn meaningful ideas into projects that genuinely engage the people they are designed to serve.
Emma holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, an Advanced Diploma of Community Services and a Certificate in Life Coaching. This multidisciplinary background gives her a unique ability to combine creativity and human understanding with the structure, coordination and relationship-building required to bring complex projects to life.
Her commitment to community-led work spans more than fifteen years, including: - Volunteer project manager with Home of Hope Malawi 2010-2017 - Consultant on Grace Pads, a menstrual-health initiative improving access to sanitary products for girls and women in Malawi (2012-2013) - Have a Heart charity event (2012) - Shine fundraising lunch in support of Lily House (2024) -Mum's Gone Mild fundraiser event in support of Somewhere To Go Foundation (2026)
Emma has designed and facilitated women’s empowerment retreats, workshops and community experiences, expanding into business retreats in 2025. Her commitment to Community continues with her joining the committee of the Sunshine Coast Community Association.
Across every project, Emma’s work is grounded in a simple belief: strong communities are created when people feel seen, included and connected to something meaningful. Whether she is coordinating an initiative, facilitating a workshop, shaping a workplace wellbeing experience or delivering an event, Emma brings the people, purpose and practical pieces together to create spaces people genuinely want to be part of.
